Adios Amigos!

It has occured to me that I never ever got pics up on here of Mr. Pink Hippo. SO RUDE OF ME!

Well...he's about to go on an adventure for a week.

I had told myself that I would pack all week so that packing for a weeks vacation wouldn't be too overwhelming. Yeahhhhhhhh....still got some major packing to do. And it's all my sister's fault. She made me drink good wine & watch Project Runway.

I did manage to get my orders finished & out on the porch for pick-up!

And then I had to take a pic of my flower box. This flower box is purty colorful! I really hope they are as perky when we get back. Maybe a magic elf will water them.

We're outta here.
Gotta go help this boy turn 1.

Gotta get some sun & fun.

We got his first hair cut this weekend. He loved it.

We're having a robot party. Of course invites are done. ;) Have they actually been printed and sent out yet? Not really.

But we know it's a ROBOT PARTY!
Lots of planning to do.

Destination - MEXICO

Oooohhh to have a wedding in Mexico. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Miss Katie is...and here is her tropical wedding invitation that we designed. The colors are so bright & cheery. Just like Miss Katie.

We used turquoise & poppy colors - and she choose a poppy colored envelope. You know you are about to find some fun inside that envelope! She is going to put return address label stickers on the outside and some fun wraps around to the back. I think that just adds a fun touch to a special invite.

Katie has her own business. Just Ask Katie! I think I could use her up about 100x a day!

I just know she'd be happy to help you, too! You should email her @ justaskkatie@gmail.com right now.

Congratulations Katie & Brad! I wish you lots of happiness - especially in MEXICO!!!

It's a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

I am just on cloud 9. I can't concentrate. It's a great day!!!

First off we had a great weekend filled with fishing & sailing & sun time with good friends. It's exhausting to run around after busy boys - but so worth it. Charlie & Avery have such a good time together and Sadie & Ben are just 2 peas in a pod.

Then I went to pinkberry last night. I went with a girlfriend and was actually excited that there was a line out the door because then I had more time to chat with her. They just opened one in Denver. You should get your booty there.

Today I can't even begin to concentrate on what I'm up to becaue I'm just so excited. I received TWO wonderful bits of info today. One being our friends 2 yr old little girl is coming home from the hospital after 3.5 months. HOORAY!!!!!! The other we'll just talk about later. (so don't bug me about it!) (ha) And the third is I have a new birth announcement that I am so honored to work on. I helped create her shower invites and she emailed to have me work on the announcement. That is just the ultimate compliment. THANK YOU!!!!!! FUN FUN FUN

I've gotta pull it together. Look at my todo list.

Lastly - at lunch - I scored big for Ben & Charlie on a quick thrift store run. FIVE BUCKS.

I really don't think this day could get much better. Oh -wait! My parents are bringing over dinner tonight. Done & Done.

TGIF...........

Seriously. It's been one of "those" weeks. Mostly due to a certain 3-yr-olds current state of mind.
Plus it's 90+ degrees. That never helps when it comes to sleeping.
We're ready for a wknd getaway to the mountains to cool off.

I did get out my sisters shower invitations! And sadly - didn't even send one to her? DUH - her name wasn't on the invite list. Poor bride, didn't even get invited to her own shower. I threw one in the mail. She's good.

AND... a friend thru some business cards on my desk. I'd designed them for her for her photography business. http://www.sarahgodbyphotography.com She's super doooper talented. You'd better book her fast b/c she is expecting her first 'lil bambino in September.

See if you recognize anyone on her site. ;)P

Or just scroll down....

Happy weekend, EVERYBODY!!!!!!

Obsessing

I'm obsessing over a bed for Bensons room.
I love the Jenny Lind style beds. Charlie & Ben's crib is a Jenny Lind.

I found an awesome red (dark & subtle) jenny lind style twin bed @ an antique store at a great price. I haven't stopped thinking about it. I'm about to fly outta here on my lunch hour to see if it's still there. And to see if it's sturdy enough. AND if a standard twin mattress would fit in it.

This photo was in my inspiration folder. You can check it out & other works here. I'm not 100% sure but I believe Jessica Helgerson designed this room. Want to give credit where credit is DUE. I don't want it this bright red - but you get the idea. I think Benson would LOVE IT!

Wish me luck that it's still there!!!!

What do you do if your wondering if you should purchase something. Then find yourself thinking about it non-stop for a week? Is it a purchase? OR move on?

Hmmm....

UPDATE: I found where I found this photo of the red bed & kiddo's room. Have you checked out designspongeonline.com???? IT's ADDICTING so becareful & don't blame me for hours lost exploring. They have several posts showing Jessica Helgerson's designs. They are wonderful & inspiring.

UPDATE 2: Thanks to some good friends who texted me YES! BUY IT! I up & bought it. I'll have to start up my Ben's room collage. I will be good & ready for turning his room into a toddler room in about 1 year. I'm giggling that I bought this before he even needs it. But you just never know when you are going to cross paths w/ these little gems. Plus, I feel a little good & green by being a little sustainable. Yay me.  And how cute it will look w/ some of these sheet from Garnet Hill?

Survived

Jeff was away for 4 days at a regatta in Minnesota. I love being with my boys but 4 days is exhausting. I don't know how single parents do it. I don't think I stopped moving for 4 days.

I did manage to complete 1 project and take a few pictures. I finished up some stationery for Caden & some pink burp cloths. Caden's mommy is a cube-neighbor of mine @ the real job. It was fun to place this on her chair Monday morning. Um...she's already written me a thank you note. HELLO!?!?! That was scary fast.

Charlie didn't take his helmet off most of Saturday & Sunday. I found Ben tap dancing on it while lounging in the backyard. Charlie didn't seem to mind.

They might make me exhausted and keep me from getting things done. But they make me smile. All. The. Time.

My current wish-list project:

I had this thought today....that I want to scavenge for a cool old buffet. Then I want to sand it, prime it & paint it so it looks like this one I saw @ Furbish Studio.

I found this one thru a blog I've stumbled upon called iswanee. It's kind of fun to see what she's doing in her store. Even if I'm 2,000 miles away! She offered to ship it. But I don't think I can afford the shipping right now - let alone the actual buffet. (We just signed up Charlie for preshool and are currently re-budgeting our life!)

I think one of my cute friends in Denver should buy it. This way, I can come over & look at it. You should get the 2 green lamps, too. Awesome.

Sooo instead - I found a few on craigs list. But I'm sans a hubby this wknd to help me pick it up. One of these days I'll stumble upon the right one. I've got plenty to work on in the mean time. Aka - sanding kitchen cabinets & painting them. (yes - it's still not done!)

The second I win that lottery - I'm calling Furbish to ship to Denver ASAP. Until then... keep an eye out for a cool buffet for me. xoxoxo

Robots

I've been wanting to work on making my own little ROBOT family. Here's my first guy. Benson is turning ONE in a month. Might have to start dreaming up some ROBOT ideas for a little birthday gathering.

I found this online at wendolonia. I don't know who I think I am and have time to make this cake. But it looks yummy!

And her idea of "nuts & bolts" are too cute!

I'm going to get my thinking cap on and start planning. Send me your ideas. I think Charlie might have more fun than Ben with this one. ;)

Bloomin' 4th!

I'm sooo thrilled to be getting up to the mountains!

But bummed b/c I have a feeling these purdy fellas will bloom while we are gone. Hopefully it won't be too hot down here to wipe them out before we get home to enjoy them for a bit.

If you need a little escape - you should check out one of my favorite blogs. I like to check out dooce.com once in awhile. She (the writer - Heather) is pretty much as sarcastic as it gets. Her rants are awesome.
(Hey April - it's a good real estate story - so you will LOVE IT!)

XOXOXOXOXO
HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!!!!!!
