Mini-Mintie Stationery

EEEKS!
I'm double happy today. Double humbled. Double AMAZED!

Last week I found out that 2 designs (above) for the children's stationery challenge at Minted.com got Editors picks. YIPPEE! I was thrilled. THRILLED, I SAY! That alone made me want to go on a shoe shopping celebration. (I think I settled for a glass of wine)

THEN... TODAY I found out that one of the designs was a runner up for a Special Prize - Best Girl Design. (check out Minted's blog... http://www.minted.com/blog/2011/10/24/mini-minties-childrens-stationery-special-prize-winners/)

(see anything familiar w/ this runner up grouping!?)
I think my friend Megan Carey brought me some good luck!

WHOA. Design-happiness. I'm tickled pink. It's a little early for a glass of wine. I might settle for a Grande Non-Fat Hazelnut Latte.

San Francisco

I had the BEST WKND eating & drinking & playing in SF.

I never tire of seeing this bridge. Mr. Jeff proposed @ the Headlands 7 years ago. ;) We were right by a tree up there.... but apparently they are doing some renovations/construction and "our tree" is now gone. (wasn't indigenous??? then how'd it get there in the first place?) I haven't told Mr. Jeff yet. (sorry, babe, if you're reading this here!)

Sooo... onto the trip. You know you're old when the majority of your time was spent EATING. I actually planned out 75% of the meals/restaurants/places to hit for that perfect something.

My Mom and Aunt Ginger  planned a getaway weekend so that the cousins could get together for some fun. Aren't we fun?

Here's a little bit of where we went.

These things (above) were about the most amazing thing I've ever eaten for breakfast. I might even go so far as saying I think this for breakfast better than cake for breakfast. (gasp!)

Several blogs said this is what you need to eat while in SF. So we did. And it didn't disappoint. You have to divide and conquer. Seating was non-existant and not very accommodating to support the line for the pastries & bread that went out the door and down the block.
TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT.

We tried about 4 things on the menu. All delish and amazing. But the best was the bun. Hands down. (I feel like I should say buns down)

We also ate at The Wayfare Tavern.
It's Tyler Florence's place in the Financial District. Our hotel was 2 blocks from the restaurant.
The food, the service, the table, the ambiance (and company) was amazing. (**make sure you make a reservation waaaay in advance)

Heirloom tomato salad - delish.

Look @ Tyler bringin' back the deviled egg. If everyone has a deviled egg from Wayfare - everyone would like them. They were scrumptious.

We also tried the fried chicken (yum), steak tartare (yum), and cauliflower soup (liquid butter delight).

I have his cookbook Tyler Florence Family Meal. It's great. Make the turkey meatloaf TONIGHT.

HA.

DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SAN FRANCISCO FERRY BUILDING!!!!

Here are a few snaps of the farmers market. Oh the market! And the shops! And the food! I could have lived there for a few days. ( Could have just spend the night in the park w/ the Occupy Wallstreet Protesters. ;) )

Ah, man! That hand of mine.

Sisters & a 20 week cousin.

OH the Dahlias. OH the colors!

So many more outings and stories. Will save for SF Part 2.

One quick note. If you want to look up good restaurants, try out blogs. I read a ton. This one was super dooper helpful. Food spots galore!

AKA - how I found Tartine Bakery.
Sure do want to go back for that sandwich @ the Sentinel.

MORE SOON!

Pinterest. My latest addiction.

It's an amazing and totally addicting thing.

You can scour the web and "pin" things to your customizable on-line bulletin board. It will link back to the original spot you found it on the web. So it also gets you to find cool blogs or sites you never knew about.

Above is my bedroom board. Hoping that once i pin a bunch of great photos the idea of our bedroom will come to life. Problem is, I just like so many things!!!!!!!

And you can see what others and pinning and pint THOSE to your board. You get emails (if you want them) about who what pinned something you pinned.

This is Lauren's board.
LERN! You need to get PINNING! ;) Hurry up!

It's crazy fun.

Don't try it.

You'll get hooked.

But you should.

BEST bachelorette party. Ever.

Hello! Anyone still here?

I was lucky enough to getaway for a few days with my besties.

If I may say so, our group of gals do bachelorette parties RIGHT. None of the drag you thru the gross bars and force you to wear shameful things in public. (not that you are totally off the hook, though) We like our nice houses, we like our cocktails & vino & beers, we like cooking for the group, we like hiking, running, pool time & hot tubbing. We like a good dance mix and a little bit of the traditional bachelorette things. This IS a family blog (HA HA HA) so I'll leave the nitty gritty out. A girls got to keep SOME secrets. But, basically, our group of girls (aka THE DENVER TRIBE) LOOOOVES to plan a good getaway weekend.

Our group started this tradition off in Vegas 6+ years ago. Then we moved upwards and onwards to places like Grand Lake, CO., Breckenridge, CO., Palm Spring, CA., San Diego, CA., and most recently MIAMI. We're fun people.

This past wknd marked one of the last gals to don the garb from the bachelorette bag that we have passed on & on & on to every bride to be. We headed up to Breckenridge and rented a giant house.
Plenty of room to cook, eat, bootie-drop, play, paint toes, learn to fly fish, hot tub, take naps, play catan, and eat & drink some more.

The aspens were AMAZING!

So was our house.

The bachelorette and our friends little one (that came to spend 1 night!) With all these weddings, we've expanded the rules. Little ones that aren't crawling are totally allowed. ;) Trust us. In a house this big, a little one will not be woken up by some 107.5-inspired tunes.

Giant kitchen. So perfect for a bunch of gals that like to cook & gab at the same time.

This professional party goer brought peach mojitos. DEE LISH.

Yes. I still get this excited about a glass of wine.

LERN whipped together this amazing meal for us all.

So good it warranted a picture.

Well. This is where things start to get a little out of control.

I don't know WHY the bachelorette needed a time-out like this.

And even if your pregnant, (due in Jan?? on left, due in March on right)
one can still have a good time on the dance floor.

There are tons more photos - but those are for safe-keeping.
And black mail opportunities.
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 ;)
xoxoxoxoxo love you Denver Tribe girls!
