RECIPE

This is on my list to make.

Ever since starting Tracy Anderson, she's got me making some crazy stuff outta my Cuizinart.
This thing has been sitting in my pantry going fairly unused for 6 years and now I have used it weekly for the last month. YAY!!!!! You need to go get one if you don't have one.

I found this recipe from the folks at Door to Door organics. We just started using them ... and so far so fun and so yummy.

Charlie thinks that the farmer is actually sending him the food directly & personally to him and wants to write the farmer a thank you note every time the box arrives. ;)
(score 2 for the parents - 1 for good food & one for the thank you note writing!)

You can check out the recipe on their blog.

Pac-Man luv

Yes.
I love pac-man. And YES. That tells you how old I am.

I stumbled upon this today.
And I'm praying that I actually get some work done today.

Found this on Huffington Post... and I hate them for it.

Go HERE if you want to try it out for fun! But WARNING you might not get a lot done today.

JULY 27th!!!!!!

IKEA!
IKEA!
IKEA!

http://www.9news.com/news/article/195337/339/Denver-area-IKEA-to-open-earlier-than-expected

I really don't know why I am this excited. Probably because we haven't had one and you always want what you don't/can't have. It's kinda like how I always want Chick-Fil-A on a Sunday. Because they are closed.

Charlie won't have to wait til November for his bunk beds. (assuming we end up going that route)

Oh the things we will find at Ikea.

SO EXCITED!

Your order has shipped...

Apparently - this is what happens when you have 2 glasses of wine after 2 weeks of cutting back. My tolerance level is not what it used to be which means my trigger finger had NO PROBLEM pushing the ORDER button on these curtains. ;)

I originally had BIG PLANS to buy fabric and make them myself. Then I started thinking about how the heck am I going to have time to do that. And when I did the math and these were only about $100 more than actually buying the fabric I said "PLACE ORDER!" We'll see if they work.

Happy Friday!

A friend @ work is having a cube party. And there are races around the cubes on a razor.

Time to beat is 14.2.

Sadly I got 22.5 w/ a 5 second penalty for losing my footing a bit.

RATS!

Happenings...

This is funny (to me) but the headline of my last post did NOT really add up to what I ended up talking about!!! I meant to tell you about a fun experience we had taking some family photos. And about this new find on craigslist.... but got babbling about Mz. Tracy Anderson. OOPSIE.

PHOTOS! We are in love w/ Katie Thurmes and her amazing photography skillz. She's simply AHHH-mazing. You can check her stuff out at Tree Swing. She put on an amazing workshop and needed a family to show the participants how it all goes down. I don't think I hesitated for 1/2 a second when she asked us to participate. DONE! Here are a few photos:

The photos above were taken by one of the participants, Megan Alverez.
Her website/blog has some great photos of kids & engagements, etc. She's very talented!

This one is from the AWESOME Laura Koupal.

It was the best day - and hottest so far! 80 degrees in early April!?!?
If you need a trick to get your kids to pose - break out suckers. My boys
did anything once they got suckers. HA HA.

We also have new fun neighbors - and they had one of those carriers that you hook onto your bike and tow the kiddos. I honestly thought I would never want one of those. Then our neighbors broke theirs out and said "lets bike to pizza" or "lets bike the kids to ice cream". Well... I melted. (no pun intended)
Sharpend my craigslist skills and found one.
Someone thought he could hook up his bike w/ training wheels and pull us around. ;)

That grin is ridiculous.

Ahhh... the kitchen can just be enjoyed now.

And I've been eating things like this! VEGGIES!
I am on day 11 of Tracy Andersons Method. (and I think I kinda like it????) WHAAT?

We've been planting in the front yard. C wanted to have his lunch by the new plants.

WALLPAPER OFF THE WALL in the master. Love you Mr. Jeff!!!

Have NO IDEA what color to paint the room. But I do love this bed. ;)
Better play the lottery this wknd.

Fun photos & summer bike time!

I am very excited for this summer yet a little nervous. We sat down and looked over the family calendar and there is something going on EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND THRU SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!

Weddings
Showers
Bachy party (MIAMI!!!!!!!!)
Sailing (multiple weekends)
U2 concert (the make up one from last year)
6 YR anniversary
Someone's 40th (not mine!)
Someone's 4th
Someone's 2nd
A trip to Creede w/ friends (long weekend)

OH MY!

Thank goodness Miz Tracy (tracyandersonmethod.com) is getting me ready. I'm on week 2 and already feel SO GOOD. I'll be looking like this in no time. (ha ha yeah right)

Tracy's meal plan had me shopping for nothing but fruit, veggies & proteins. (last night @ 7pm) She's even managed to get me to cut my wine in-take in HALF. I really didn't think that was possible.

But it's true what she says...
I HAVE GUILT! GUILT! GUILT! But I'm trying really really hard to give this my best shot.
Now...... that worked real well for the first 8 days. I found the balance and got it done no matter how many times Charlie watched me do my sit-ups or leg lifts and told me I was doing it wrong. ( He watches the video and tells me the Tracy is doing it THIS WAY. Thanks Charlie)

Last night was a prime example of sometimes something has to give. Normally I'd had prepared a bit - but we got a call telling us we got in at the last minute to a 5:45 swim class @ the Y. I flew outta work to get Charlie @ school, Jeff grabbed Ben and then got the swim bag from home. We all met @ the Y (with 5 min to spare I might add) and jumped in the pool! WHEW! The we had to get dinner - CHIPOTLE. This was my first real test of diverting from the meal plan - and I think I did a pretty good job. I had the "salad' with chicken, black beans and tomato salsa. That was it. AND IT WAS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was so hard not to eat the quesadillas. SO HARD.

Essentially my run around Wash Park and quick jaunt to the grocery store went out the window.

But we're back on track today.

Right after our first ever parent - teacher conference. (*GULP*)

I might be crazy.....

I've had it.
In order to make the jeans fit properly it's time for drastic measures.

Tracy is getting me back in shape.

I am getting off coffee and having wine on a limited basis for the next 90 days. Plus following her diet. Plus doing cardio & matt workouts.

I should probably repeat something: NO COFFEE AND LIMITED WINE!

WHOOOo do I think I am?

I should also probably mention that the box arrived about 2 weeks ago and sat on my kitchen table.
Sooo...I am only on day 3.

A co-worker of mine made me a little surprise to keep me motivated. It made me laugh so hard. Then the blonde hair kinda freaked me out so I colored it. ;)

Jeff & the boys have been troopers. Everytime I break out the sweet potato and corn "pudding" the boys usually want some, too. It's been a TON of prep work and planning to make sure my meals are made and the fellas have a good dinner, too.

I made this just like full plate blog did. Was kinda fun to break out the Cuizinart!

Charlie "helped" me.

I got inspired by all these meals she makes her kids.

I found a blog that is super helpful. http://www.fullplatecookinglessons.blogspot.com/
If you check it out you can see what some of the weeks meals are (pics above are from Full plate blog) and then some amazingly great options for little people. Eila is my new hero. My guys ate roasted asparagus happily on Monday night. LOVE THAT! And I introduced Charlie to pepitas. He loved 'em.

Anyhooo.....
this has been rather time consuming as of late. I'm hoping that it gets easier as the weeks go by. I'm so overwhelmed w/ all that you have to do I haven't even really thought of what I'm missing or what restaurant I want to go to for a "GOOD JOB! TREAT".

(sushi den of course is always in my mind) ;)
