Life.Moving.Fast.

Holy Moly! It's only the middle of January and I can't keep up with it.
Working on that constant challenge of balancing LIFE w/ WORK.
Have you seen these amazing mom's do it?

Warning - don't get sucked in! It's quite addicting and inspiring.

For Christmas I'd hoped for some little gift cards so that I could go get my make-up done. The fancy way. The way that you do when you're about to get married. I haven't done that since our wedding almost 7 years ago. A friend told me about a class taught by this fancy gal:

I loved it! She walked you thru how to put on the makeup yourself. While I need LOTS of practice it was totally fun. I spent those gift cards and then some but it was worth it! AANNDD it's made me try & make time for myself in the AM.  Let me re-phrase that - make an EFFORT.
HA HA HA HA HA

Oooohhhhhhhh and one last fun thing. This came in the mail last week:

I had a first generation nano that I only used for running or traveling. Apparently it was recalled. We sent it in and got THIS BAD BOY back! HOLY MOLY it's ah-mazing. It has a touch screen, radio, music, that crazy NIKE trainer app (luv) and a bunch of other stuff I don't know how to use. Yet. Mama's got her running partner back. ;)

And yes, I'm STILL reading the Steve Jobs book.

Borderline ridiculous

Thought this was funny... my current TO-DO list.

Didn't get TONS accomplished as Jeff was outta town sailing.
I hung out w/ these two goofballs.

We've had some great (and much needed) rain. They decided to
be prepared. Boots and all.

I am doing some dahlia research for a super dooper fun project.
Had no idea this is the official flower of Mexico.

If I had an extra 200 I'd buy this dress.

And these shoes.

But I don't. So I'll get working so that I can. Maybe. Not.

• Wrapping up one special wedding invite.
• Designing another special wedding invite.
• Working on a 4 & 40 party... stay tuned.
• Christmas cards
• Bday cards
• Can't forget the real job.

I could use about 24 more hours in the day. ;)

WHAT?

Ohhh how I love MAD MEN.

I am a bit OVER COMMITTED today, this week, and the flippin' month of May.
This just made me giggle a bit too much. If you love Mad Men, you will enjoy.

I might be crazy.....

I've had it.
In order to make the jeans fit properly it's time for drastic measures.

Tracy is getting me back in shape.

I am getting off coffee and having wine on a limited basis for the next 90 days. Plus following her diet. Plus doing cardio & matt workouts.

I should probably repeat something: NO COFFEE AND LIMITED WINE!

WHOOOo do I think I am?

I should also probably mention that the box arrived about 2 weeks ago and sat on my kitchen table.
Sooo...I am only on day 3.

A co-worker of mine made me a little surprise to keep me motivated. It made me laugh so hard. Then the blonde hair kinda freaked me out so I colored it. ;)

Jeff & the boys have been troopers. Everytime I break out the sweet potato and corn "pudding" the boys usually want some, too. It's been a TON of prep work and planning to make sure my meals are made and the fellas have a good dinner, too.

I made this just like full plate blog did. Was kinda fun to break out the Cuizinart!

Charlie "helped" me.

I got inspired by all these meals she makes her kids.

I found a blog that is super helpful. http://www.fullplatecookinglessons.blogspot.com/
If you check it out you can see what some of the weeks meals are (pics above are from Full plate blog) and then some amazingly great options for little people. Eila is my new hero. My guys ate roasted asparagus happily on Monday night. LOVE THAT! And I introduced Charlie to pepitas. He loved 'em.

Anyhooo.....
this has been rather time consuming as of late. I'm hoping that it gets easier as the weeks go by. I'm so overwhelmed w/ all that you have to do I haven't even really thought of what I'm missing or what restaurant I want to go to for a "GOOD JOB! TREAT".

(sushi den of course is always in my mind) ;)

Snow'd IN!

Well... maybe my last post was some of a *sign* as to what was ahead for me!? Jeff & I had the day off together (rare) and we decided to go skiing in Winter Park for the day. That quick day-trip turned into about a 36 hr mini-get-away / sorta freak out / back to back ski days for us! (SANS LITTLE PEOPLE!)

Due to adverse weather conditions and a missing snow boarder (RIP - oh gosh my being stuck seems so insignificant) Berthoud pass & I-70 closed. We were forced to call the grandparents (THANK GOODNESS THEY WERE IN TOWN!) and have the keep the fellas for the night b/c we were NOT making it home.

Then of course the next day - it was still snowing and the pass was still closed. So we had no choice but not to ski again. I really can't remember the last time I skied back to back days. CRAZY.

AND... of course I didn't have my camera. But you really don't want to ski a shot of me trying to ski thru trees & down Drunken Frenchman that my lovely husband took me down. You really don't.

Needless to say - I'm behind behind behind on some updates. Those are coming.

• a wonderful baby shower
• sneak peek at some Christmas designs for 2011 holiday season! (it's right around the corner - HA!)
• weddings, weddings, weddings! YIPPEE
• more house updates....

Until then... cop a squat and have yourself a good day!
